Automatic Froogle-Feed Builder for Yahoo Stores

Big News: A good thing can still be improved, and I've developed an automatic conversion tool to create a Froogle feed for your Yahoo! Store, right here, online.

All you need to prepare is the following:

  • Browse to the Yahoo! Store Feature "Promote" - "Search Engines,"
  • Click "Enable" for "Export of Store Contents"

This creates a file objinfo.xml on the store domain. When you pull it up with your browser, by entering e.g. http://www.myyahoostorexyz.com/objinfo.xml in the address bar and pressing ENTER, you'll see a huge file, full of XML tags and instructions mixed with your store's catalog data.

Submit this via the tool below to Instantly see a froogle feed for your store:

Full http link to store's objinfo.xml file:

This might also be
http://www.myyahoostorexyz.com/mysubdirsomething/objinfo.xml or
http://store.yahoo.com/myyahoostore/objinfo.xml depending how your store is set up. Send me an e-mail if you have problems creating or locating the objinfo.xml file.

Note that this tool:

  • strips XML tags
  • removes customized HTML tags, javascripts etc. from the item names and descriptions, to leave only text allowed by the Froogle file format
  • All you have to do is rename the text file to the name that Froogle sent you in your Merchant Instructions, submit it, and you're done! Your catalog will be in Froogle within a few business days.
  • A donation of $3 is required to help me cover hosting expenses, and to limit abuse of this tool.
