Lots has changed since then. Hard to believe,
but back in 2003 I was living with my preschool-age son and
extremely conservative husband in the Florida panhandle, keeping a
Radio Userland blog, and doing
"that's just a fad and not a real programming language").
I can't believe I wrote some of this stuff... from my favorable review of Mel Gibson's
"Passion of the Christ" to musings about the necessity of invading Iraq. (I've turned decidedly more
liberal since then.)
I had taken the blog down for a while,
but decided to revive it now. While it seems quaint and naïve now and doesn't
reflect my views anymore, some of it is really funny. Also, I think it's kind of cool that I blogged
when the blogosphere was just starting to emerge...
Still dealing with those lovebugs. It seems to get worse by the day.
Yesterday I read that, if the lovebugs are not washed off the car in 48 hours, the moisture evaporates from the bug, then the acids and enzymes from the lovebug will cause spots of acid on the paint. It is recommended to use Pam cooking spray along with Rain-X on the windshield to keep the bugs from sticking.
Recently, my system has been crashing more often, due to a process or program "CiceroUIWndFrame."
I found out that this is the "Speech and Handwriting Recognition" part of Office XP. To de-install it, go to
"Control Panel" "Add/Remove Programs" "Microsoft Office," click on the "Change" button browse to "Office Shared Features," "Alternative User Input," and select for Speech and Handwriting Recognition (both) "Not available" from the drop-down box.
Perform the change and the CiceroUIWndFrame messages disappear. Took just a second, and you don't even have to restart your system or insert the XP Office CD.
