husky pressure washerPosted 8/5/2005 3:54:26 PM by Katie WalkerIn the last two weeks I've purchased 2 Husky pressure washers. Not because I love them but because the first one stopped working after 2 uses. The second time I upgraded to the bigger model. I used it twice as well and it stopped working. I'm a little frustrated with this machine!
Husky Washer not designed properlyPosted 8/8/2005 9:20:53 AM by JerryI purchased a Husky pressure washer yesterday, and low and behold, I can't get it to start. The closest I got was to break the fuse twice. As I read the many similar criticisms to the machine, I have to wonder if the machine is designed to properly to accomodate residential amperage restrictions. I also wonder how Home Depot would choose to do business with them if they are getting so many returns like mine.
Husky 1650 elec power washer wand o-ringPosted 8/17/2005 10:33:23 AM by ErnieI purchased a Husky 1650 elecric power washer at Home Depot. It worked fine for 3 hours. The next time I used it the water spurted out the side of the wand. I bought a new oring at hardware store. It worked for a few hours and the same problem occured. Husky charges $1.95 plus $7.95 shipping for one o-ring. I am finished with Husky products.
Husky 1750 is a lemon as wellPosted 8/19/2005 1:39:35 PM by WoyjtekI too made the mistake of buying a Husky Model 1750 at Home Depot in Canada. After about 4 hours of use the o-ring in the interchangeable head failed. Good luck trying to find a replacement, even Home Depot doesn't carry replacement parts- they're an odd size that you can only get off their website. After ordering 3 at about $2 each plus $7.95 s&h, by the time I got it winter had come and I stored my pressure washer in a location which did not freeze. By the time summer rolled around, after about 2 hours use the pressure gun itself started springing leaks. You can't dismantle the pistol to fix the leak and by now with the warranty expired, Husky wanted $35 phus taxes and s&h to replace it.
I wasted 90 minutes on their supposed 24/7 "customer service" lines trying to understand some very rude quick-talking and heavily accented dudes. Forget it! do yourself a favour stay away from Husky Pressure Washers altogether.

faulty Husky 1750 power washerPosted 8/19/2005 5:18:18 PM by schmidtfamBeware, this is a very badly designed piece of junk. 1st use it shed a cooling fan blade through the fan shield (I expect this is why many units fail to run after a few minutes because the broken fan blade jams the motor and will eventually overheat and blow the breaker. Husky refuses to answer emails or 1-888 phone. Finally fixed it myself by amputating fan shield. On 2nd use a seal washer in wand disintegrated. Replacements lasted about 10 min. A careful inspection reveals that, due to an unfixable design flaw, the trigger mechanism-wand hose connection junction is misaligned and bound to fail. Home Depot refuses to refund because of endless problems with Huskey products. These guys should be in jail. Taking money for this product is fraud.
My Husky 1650 works great.Posted 8/27/2005 9:38:02 PM by RonI've had mine for about 2 years. It has worked flawlessly and my only complaint is that I should have gotten one that produces higher pressure. None of my o-rings have ever failed, but I lube them before fitting the wand (usually I just spit on them). I recently broke off the check valve for the soap line and can't find a replacement. I put a brass plug in place of it for now. While I had it apart to extract the broken check valve I rerouted the electrical cord so that it come out the top instead of the bottom. Much easier to keep tangle free and the cord doesn't drag on the when I move the sprayer around.
I bought a display model at a discound and didn't get a manual so I don't know who to contact for parts. If anyone has a line on replacement parts, I'd be grateful.

Husky H120 Pressure WasherPosted 9/6/2005 2:23:11 PM by Positive ImagesI have replaced this power washer 2 times in 2 years and spend way too much time on the customer service line, and me as well I am having a problem with a leak spurting out water on the side and it is an odd size o ring which I didnt realize. I have also once replaced the entire wand for a bad mechanism that wouldnt shut the machine off when you let the trigger off. What a shame.....a very poor quality item.
o-ringsPosted 9/8/2005 12:33:27 PM by petebritemine too split the o-ring in the trigger assembly (1750) would like to know the proper size for this part - it seems that the manufacturer only wants to sell a replacement gun
for sale, husky 1750 with plent y of problemsPosted 9/9/2005 8:58:13 PM by E.J.I have had problems from day one with the purchase of my husky 1750 power washer. First it wouldnt stay running and I am sure it was something to do with the electrical system in this item. After babying this tempermental electric nightmare, it quit altogether becasue the On/off swith just fell off. I spoke with some foreign dude (pakistan or somewhere) and he tried to help me but did not know exactly what i was saying to him. An obvious language problem. Anyway, I ordered a new switch which I had to install. It worked for about 2 more uses and then the high powered hose coupling split in half. It was made of white metal and simply broke. I am now in the difficult process of trying to find that part but after reading other comments, I think I will save my time and buy a real machine instead of this peice of GARBAGE!!!! Buyer beware.. and I wouldnt purchase mine when I sell it.. lol
Husky problems o plentyPosted 9/13/2005 7:41:07 PM by mhotelOn maiden voyage of the husky(washing the patio) the hose inside the wand split and it began spewing water...went to the warranty website re-ordered new parts, which came fairly quick... After attaching new wand, pump would not shutoff and it seemd to never build pressure..., then no water will even dribbel out of the wand went to home depot they wanted to give me new one since i did not have receipt or get this, the orignal box... I got so pissed off at them i left it there and told them there is no way i would take another one of those back.
Husky a Husky is not!!Posted 9/23/2005 4:18:50 PM by WashedupThe Husky 1650 is not a "husky" unit. For example, the handle only has a 90-day warranty...that's because it breaks in 91 days. What a piece of junk. Use it four times in two years and it is useless. Water spurts from all over. Even the spare parts don't fit, and they're expensive to boot! Stay away from Home Depot major appliances, they don't warranty them.
Husky 1750 is a piece of junkPosted 9/25/2005 1:05:27 PM by AJIn April 2004, I purchased a Husky 1750 at Home Depot in USA. Used it once or twice with no problems. Took it out in July '05 to use and "Turbo Nozzle" refused to work. Sounded as if a part was broken inside. Spent almost 2 hours on line with Customer Service (HA HA). Company refused to replace Turbo Nozzle because parts are only warranteed for 90 DAYS!!!! They expected me to spend $18 plus shipping to BUY a new nozzle. How many times does the normal homeowner use a power washer in 90 Days? I finally spoke to a Senior Tech and he agreed to send me a new Turbo nozzle free. I received the new nozzle and when I tried to use it, it would not work correctly. In addition the trigger gave out and stopped working. I tried to call customer service again and spoke to a very snotty, heavily-accented rep from India who was absolutely no help. He was more concerned with getting my phone number correct than he was helping me. Finally I called my local Home Depot and explained the situation. Since the product was almost 16 months old they were very reluctant to do anything. The Ops Mgr finally offered to take it back for store credit. She firmly recommended that I do not buy another Husky pressure washer. Since I purchased the product on my AmEx card I decided to pursue a refund through their Buyers Advantage program. This product is a dog.
Husky 1750 Pressure Washer: DidNot Buy It!Posted 12/23/2005 11:18:06 PM by Jim LyonsI was just about to drop the $99.97 at Home Depot but thought first I should do a bit of research. I am so glad that I found this thread and read about all of the horrirs with this unit. Thank you all for saving me the aggrivation (and the $99.97) that I would have surely had with this washer. These information threads really work. Keep it up!
hUSKY 1750 pOWER wASHERPosted 12/24/2005 9:52:36 AM by BuckI was just about to return a 1550 PSI HSDS washer since there was only a 20 dollar difference for the Husky 1750 now on sale at the Home Depot. As the fellow before me I am glad I read the articles . I'll pray for the one I brought but will be releived for the problems I may have ad witht he 1750
Husky 1650 brokePosted 12/28/2005 9:38:40 AM by Tom JueWell I have to say that I've gotten quite a bit of use from my Husky 1650 in the last three years. I bought one when my neighbor showed me his. It developed a problem not shutting off after the trigger was released. Finally got around replacing a microswitch but it did not fully solve the problem. When its off....it's still humming like its stalled. So in the process of looking for another switch and maybe a starting capacitor I stumbled onto this site. Whooa, I may not spend any extra money on it now. I think I will just hot wire it to remain running when the power switch is turned on and just run it till it smokes.
I did notice HD has dropped the price on these and now I know why. Almost bought another one yesterday. Glad I did'nt.
Huskey weekender power washerPosted 1/10/2006 7:20:20 PM by JIMBUYERS BEWARE!!! This is the biggest piece of junk i've come across using pressure washers. This is the 1350 psi model and it is a joke. the first time i used it the hose connector stripped out and the hose would keep popping off from the connector. I dont see how Husky gets away with selling junk like this! As far as pressure goes not at all what I thought it would be.
different viewPosted 2/8/2006 11:08:32 AM by gadgetmanjust my 2 cents, i bought the 1750 over a year ago and have enjoyed it immensely. i had the issue of my circuit breaker popping also and when i sent them an email about it, in less than 3 hours they responded to my issue and clearly explained how this was caused by using an extension cord which caused the voltage to drop. i did further research and found this to be true. i was using a "cheap" 100ft - 16 gauge extension cord and it would not supply enough power to the unit. i did as they instructed and problem solved. i am sure things happen to other folks but i can tell you i am satisfied with the product and how they handled my concern
Husky1750Posted 2/24/2006 1:21:05 AM by AndyI bought a Husky 1750 powerwaher and haven't use it yet. I did a little research on this product before use it and I end up on this wonderful website. Thanks everybody for sharing the Husky experience. Have a wonderful day everybody.
Husky 1750Posted 2/24/2006 3:24:49 PM by richI just stumbled upon this site while trying to find the warranty terms since I just bought one yesterday. At $69 (- a $10 card I got in the mail) I thought it was a great deal. Maybe not! It's too cold out to even see if it works.
Thanks EveryonePosted 3/14/2006 1:42:11 AM by Happy PappyI was going to go to Home Depot in the morning and get a Husky 1750. Thank goodness I searched for reviews and found this site. Appreciate all the helpful comments. You certainly saved me some grief.

Husky gotta watch McGuyverPosted 3/24/2006 8:45:17 PM by labcabnBought the Hunky 1750 in mid summer 05, used it for everything you can think of around the house, did my huge bottom duck and large top deck with no problems. Left it outside where it still is all through wineter sometimes covered with snow in ne pennsylvania. Now the handle busted like just like the other twenty people above. Went to the local hardware store got two washers for the one that was broke and put them both on with the help of some wd-40. and wall-ah every bit worth the $169.00 and still got about 2 1/2 years left on the warrenty. and havn't had to sweep, car-wash,put a new deck on or pay anybody else to have some fun. No complaintswith husky. Zach-gt!
Huskey 1750Posted 4/13/2006 12:03:10 PM by Parrish EvansJUNK! After buying it Ive spent more time waiting on replacement wands "4" now than using it. I will never buy this brand again.
power washerPosted 4/15/2006 12:04:56 PM by H.R. NebbsOk, so we agree that Husky power washer is junk.
What does one buy?? Simonize, Karcher?? Used for household chores, car, deck, driveway etc. 1500 psi should be enough??
You've got me scaredPosted 4/21/2006 11:46:51 AM by K. BayI just purchased a Husky power washer 1800psi
got it home and it did not work out of the box. I was thinking it was because my water hose was kinked and it wasn't getting a srong enough flow, now I think I'd better take it back. At least I kept the box.
JunkPosted 4/22/2006 3:41:01 PM by GafferI purchased a Husky 1750psi last summer from Home Depot, set the unit up and tried to use it, but nope, motor seized. So I returned the unit the same day. The girl who refunded the money said most of them have been returned.
A few months ago Home Depot had a on line sale for the 1750psi, again I purchased unit and took out of the box to find the on/off switch smashed. That's it, I will never purchase another Husky product again.
Yet another dead Husky 1750Posted 4/28/2006 11:25:48 PM by mandaUsed it a few times last year. Pulled it out of the garage this year and then handle squirts water every way but forward. You're correct, defective design that isn't worth half the money I paid for it.
Zero back up or warranty response. I'll leave its carcass at home despot tomorrow.
Thanks for Husky 1750 comments!Posted 4/29/2006 3:19:16 PM by danaI just bought a husky 1750 at clearance sale at HD and I am going to return it because of all these negative comments. I have not even opened the box yet.
Husky 1750Posted 5/6/2006 8:44:12 AM by RustyA poorly designed and built pressure washer. My 1750 failed after ten minutes of use. The handle came apart. Poor customer service and will never buy another Husky product. Home Depot should not carry this brand of pressure washer.
Husky 1750Posted 5/15/2006 4:00:17 PM by ROBERTI wish I had found this site earlier. I purchased a Husky 1750 psi and it worked a few times. I put up for the winter and when I got it out in the spring the manifold was leaking. I thought I may have gotten below freezing and burst. But, after reading about all the problems I don't know. The bad part is I have already order a replacement manifold.

FUSE WON'T BLOW IF I UES A SHORTER EXTENTION CORD.

HUSKY 1650Posted 5/25/2006 11:12:17 AM by MIKERAN WELL THE FIRST FEW TIMES. THEN IT STARTED CUTTING OFF CONTINUOUSLY. NEVER DID FIGURE OUT WHAT THAT WAS ABOUT. THEN THE PLASTIC HOSE INSIDE THE CASEING BROKE OFF AND I CAN NOT GET IT BACK ON AS IT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE WITH SOME KIND OF SPECIAL GLUE. THE CUTTING OFF DROVE ME CRAZY. OUT TO THE GARBAGE IT GOES.
Husky 1800 PSI Residential PowerwasherPosted 5/30/2006 5:40:51 PM by BillThese Husky powerwashers apparently haven't gotten any better. The Husky 1800 Powerwasher I got from Home Depot couldn't run for more than 15 seconds out of the box without popping the circuit breaker. Nothing else on the line but the washer. My 5+ year old Generac pressure had worked fine under the same conditions. I mistakenly thought the Husky would be an upgrade.
The HD 90 Weekender is a "Killer"Posted 6/2/2006 2:37:17 PM by Henry TipmoneI purchased an HD 90 from Home Depot. Because of the limited use I had for a powerwasher, the HD 90 was "sufficient" After 6 months, the O Rings went in the Gun, so I purchased a new gun (only because when I took the Gun apart to replace the rings, it was next to impossible). The gun came quickly and I was off and running. Two weeks after the hose split. So back to the HD site and I purchased a new hose. Then Memorial Day weekend came, so I figured let me power wash the deck. Note; I must have used this unit 15 times prior so I knew what I was doing. With my new hose and Gun, I started the unit. Within seconds it started to operate normally, then exploded. The back of the Gun exploded, with pieces of spiked plastic attached to the hose flying into the air, lodging itself in my left forearm, Well, 32 stitches later, limited use of my arm, and a call to a personal injury lawyer, I am giving up on both Home Depot and Husky. Home Depot was totally uninterested. When I spoke to their Atlanta HQ Risk office, they advised me to contact a lawyer, and have my lawyer talk to them. I am now a devoted Lowes customer!
Huskey CrapPosted 6/10/2006 6:11:04 PM by Gary1750 Used Once, replaced O rings, still leaks.
I will NEVER EVER Shpo at Home Depot or buy any Huskey garbage again. Nor will anybody I Know. MAD AS HELL.
Deadly Husky HD 90Posted 6/12/2006 3:40:46 PM by Dave ShineJust received a 12” bruise on my arm from this device. The first time I used it the hose fitting gave after about 30 min of use. I emailed them to say that the washer seemed to be overpressuring and asked what to do. They sent me a new hose. The same thing happened the next time I used it. This time they sent me a hose and wand. Yesterday I was using it and less than 2 min. the pump sounded like it was going to explode. I was reaching down to turn the machine off when the hose separated from the want and struck my arm with enough force to deaden it for a couple of minutes. It also glanced off my head with enough force to knock my glasses off. Now I have this massive bruise and a very dangerous door stop. I called Home Depot Customer Service but were not helpful. Essentially, they want to give me a replacement. I, too, am thinking about a personal injury lawyer – not so much because I was sold a defective piece of equipment but that when I reported the problem I was given additional parts to keep me in harm’s way and had my contact information. I note that this model is no longer available at home depot and on the manufacture’s website. Will alert the Product Safety Commission. Any lawyers lurking out there?
good bye Home Depot and HuskyPosted 6/13/2006 11:32:35 PM by GregDitto to all the comments above, Home Depot did nothing and Husky has the most comprehensive Custom Calling tree to no where.oor customer service all around.
Husky1650Posted 6/20/2006 8:52:50 AM by ArthurUsed twice, high pressure hose split; after dealing with semi-coherent customer service rep, replacement came. This one lasted for two more uses. Other problems: Couldn't fix leak on inlet fitting; plastic hose connection inside unit sheared off, (I couldn't believe this one) After fourth use (total about 3 hours life) motor churned away with no water coming out of wand. Finally smoked and died a frustrated death. Now, cannot even get through to customer service on phone. They do not answer email trouble-shooting query. Piece of crap----classless company.
Husky 1750 is a dud!Posted 6/21/2006 3:41:29 PM by paulUsed mine once everything was fine. Tried to use second time but machine would not develop high pressure. Went through all the troubleshooting tips in the manual and on their website - nothing worked. Sent two emails via the website - no response. Called their customer service number and was unable to get a human on the line. Their recorded troubleshooting message kept on cutting out and recycling. WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER HUSKY PRODUCT.
1750 Me 2Posted 6/25/2006 1:23:40 PM by yo2nd time i use it the gfi switch went and they replaced for free - shipping .i have about 6 hours on it and the hose blew apart inside the handle and they told it was miss use and would charge for a new one thanks husky!
1750 Husky Parts neededPosted 7/2/2006 6:23:00 PM by AbbyMy Husky 1750 leaks at the handle due to a poorly cast plastic valve body. After exploring my options, I'm trying to replace just that part. I refuse to buy the handle assembly from Husky. They will never get any more of my money. Can anyone direct me to a source for parts or a non-Husky replacement handle?
1750 10-7Posted 7/7/2006 11:08:44 AM by BrainiacI aquired my 1750 as a gift over a year ago. While disconnecting the hose one day, the threads on the manifold just broke off! I ordered a new one and finally got it installed and the whole thing reassembled. When I turned it on, there was no pressure and water was pouring from underneath the unit. I'm going to take it apart and try it again. I'll let everyone know if I get it up and running again. Glad I didn't buy this stupid thing!
1650 good for two summers, no pressure nowPosted 7/11/2006 5:16:58 PM by TiaI purchased the 1650, it worked for two summers, using it two or three times each, now I want to use it again and there is no pressure. We went through all the suggested troubleshooting, nothing! There is no more phone number for customer service with a real voice, just a recording, and the chat guy online wasn't any help, said I might have to send this humongous thing to Illinois for repairs. I don't even have a box for it and am sure we're not going to pay all that shipping or wait for weeks to get this house washed off, after so much rain. We might be able to repair it ourselves, but it's too hard to get any info online from that guy. This company does not care about customer service, AT ALL. Also, the connectors get stuck on it really easily and they are hard to get off. Paid too much for the amount of use we got out of it, husband said to trash it. Guess that's what we'll do. I would not buy another pressure washer made by Husky, right now, I am thinking about a better nozzle for our hose and that's about it.

Works great for mePosted 7/11/2006 10:31:13 PM by NaomiI have a Husky 1750 pressure washer and it has worked wonderfully for me. Although, I did buy and Extended Service Plan, and I did read the manual. Most of you probably havent done either. I figure, the warranty expires from the manufacture in 1 year, then the ESP kicks in. Home Depot will replace it if they cant fix it. Cant loose with this one!
Husky 1650 junkPosted 7/20/2006 9:12:10 AM by Randy IndishI purchased a Husky 1650.. used it 3 times and now it sprays water up inside itself.... no pressure at all now... hose broke? This is a piece of crap.
same old storyPosted 8/3/2006 5:12:19 PM by frankI bought a Husky 1750 from Home Depot. Right out of the box the wand stopped working. Next the brass chemical supply fitting broke.C'ant wait to see what breaks next. This is a very poorly made product.
Naomi is just lucky...Posted 8/5/2006 12:04:33 AM by ScottYes, I've read the manual. No, I didn't purchase the ESP. Yes, my Husky 1650 has problems. My motor will has blown two start capacitors and is curently dead again.
Wow! I guess my hose problem is not bad.Posted 8/21/2006 10:36:14 PM by JeffI came looking for a site to order a hose (ruptured) for the 1650 I inherited last year. It has worked fairly well, except for the power drops (now I understand why that happens). I also now understand why my father used a rubber glove instead of a washer in the hose connection joint. After reading these comments, I think I'll spend my money at Lowes on a new machine (not a Husky). On the side, when I had problems with my Campbell Hausfeld 3/4 horse paint machine, they walked me through the machine over the phone. When that didn't work, CH had a brand new machine delivered to my door 23 hours later! For FREE!! Now that is customer service. Are you listening Husky?
to poster above and a general FYIPosted 9/8/2006 10:35:18 PM by MattCampbell Hausfeld that you talk so highly of is the manufacturer of husky for home depot and Ironforce for lowes.
Yep, stumbled on this place trying to find parts to fix the 1750 POS I used once last year and is now broke. I was mad because my inlaws borrowed it when thiers wouldn't work this summer, and when I went to get it they said mine was broke too. Now I know it wasn't anything they did. (Both are leaking o-rings in gun).
Purging the unitPosted 9/15/2006 5:03:19 PM by AdamMost people don't read insrtructions. Most of the time if you are considerate of chat customer service reps they take care of you. I didn't know that I was supposed to purge the unit, and when my gun started leaking out of warranty I got mad. When I got online and chatted I found out that I was supposed to squeeze the trigger after I shut off the unit. Then store it with the hoses off. They were nice and sent me the part out of warranty for free. I haven't had a problem since. I am guessing most people with gun leaks didn't read the manual.
1750 really is a piece of junkPosted 9/25/2006 3:53:47 PM by mikebought the 1750 with a friend of mine and had to replace the wand almost immediatly. The new wand works when it wants and now the GFI on the plug went out. I'm trying to replace it but no on sells one not even Home Depot where I bought it! Expensive piece of junk. Wish I would of found this site last year.
Thanks for the input guysPosted 10/2/2006 10:56:13 AM by LuizThanks for the input. I will make sure not to purchase a Husky power washer.
I came so close.... now what?Posted 12/27/2006 3:58:25 PM by KimWow, I was just seconds from ordering a Husky 1800 online at HD. Clicked to chat with rep and i asked about return policy; i wanted to make sure i could return it to local store. she said I could return it to the warehouse, not taken to the store. i asked at whose expense, and she said 'at home depot's expense.' since i found that amazing, i searched for a second, and I then read the "return policy" link and it said 'only if defective.' i mentioned that to the chat person, who said, can you send me that link. link wouldn't cut and paste, so i said the link is on the credit card info page. poof, "moderator" comes on and said the chat was discontinued due to technical difficulties. but now i'm stuck wondering what i should buy. i'm single mom, i want electric, reasonably affordable, dependable, 1400-1800 psi i guess. preferably on wheels. totally confused now, as to what to get. but thanks for all the informative reviews, very helpful.
HUSKY Pressure WashersPosted 12/28/2006 1:44:32 AM by DepotWorkerFLI work for Home Depot and see the electric models come back all the time... you would think I would be smart enough not to buy one...oh no..i bought 2 and both went bad within a month of getting them. They acted like they couldnt build up pressure. Good thing i work there...Now I tell people to buy gas powered units.. The electric units just cant cut it! Literally! My thanks to the gentleman that came into my store today and gave me this site to post a comment!
huskey 1300 psiPosted 1/29/2007 12:20:00 PM by DRUI can't complain.
I use it for hours at a time nonstop to blow snow.
no problems yet.
More Husky Cr*pPosted 2/18/2007 6:09:37 PM by GrahamAnother 1750 bought at HD. Was about to order a bunch of replacement parts from Husky website but not now, thanks to this site.
How about this, after limited use.. O-rings gone in Hose quick assembly,Detergent assembly, pressure hose and wand/gun?
Nozzle lance does require superhuman strength to connect and disconnect - more so as time passes because the spring inside the wand gets stiffer and stiffer, and out of line.
The nozzle heads also lock up, particularly the 'variable speed' one.
Initially, I had no problems but then the problems started.....
Will buy a proper machine now and let my little boys use the Husky as a glorified water gun!
sharp as a marblePosted 2/19/2007 9:26:24 PM by PeteI have a suggestion why dont we just take all the broken Huskies and drop them off at HD and tell them to stop selling junk equipment. There is power in numbers.I will count mine as a loss. I recently purchased a Karcher, It can only get better. Home Depot no more JUNK. Needless to say they got me too.
1750 bought @ HDPosted 3/7/2007 10:54:31 AM by dynamitedanused very few times, 10 hours total, have replaced o-rings several times, brass fitting twice, and it just split the hose at the handle. this pos is in the dumpster now!
quick-release, HSDS sprayerPosted 3/9/2007 11:21:50 AM by JGocI have a HSDS model which I assume would work well if the quick-release wouldn't keep popping off. The coupler is a different size on either end so I can't just go down to the local and replace it. Anybody have any ideas?
Husky 1650 PWPosted 3/14/2007 5:20:00 PM by ClancyI can't believe the company web site.Their attitude is we don't sell any internal parts for spray gun. Just buy a new gun. I have tried several places looking for O rings but to no avail.
husky....junkPosted 3/24/2007 11:35:41 PM by jeff jenkinsI have a husky 1750 POS that has not even 10 hours of use and it no longer has pressure. Two weks of emailing the company and still no results. I will never buy one again and tell everyone do not buy this junk
No pressurePosted 3/27/2007 12:57:46 PM by FrankI have a Husky 1750. I've used it twice and not it will not generate any pressure. Motor runs, water flows but no more pressure than a garden hose. Any thoughts?

Thank YouPosted 3/28/2007 1:19:38 PM by TonyI came across your site just prior to buying a an HD 1800 after using a friend's for a weekend. The information was very helpful. The customer service and replacement part comments convinced me to:
1. Re-evaluate my purchase decision.
2. Make the purchase with a credit card.
3. Understand the store return/refund policy.
4. Use the heck out of whatever I end up purchasing for the first 90 days.
Husky 1650 Gun leaksPosted 5/5/2007 2:45:13 PM by noillinatorI have a Husky 1650 and the gun leaks very bad. There are alot of comments on this web page that consider the units junk. I would have to agree. I would not recommend a husky. They are junk and that is where they belong. DO NOT BUY!!!! PS, I'll sell you my lemon if you are interested.
Husky 1800 prone to misfortunesPosted 5/15/2007 2:37:20 PM by JujumanraidersI borrowed the Husky 1800 from my boss and used it humm for about 30 minutes and water started to come out the handle. So purchased one from Home Depot to trade out the hose and sent the new one back for my $, boy did I thought I was slick....What happened the same damn thing with the new one......DO NOT BUY HUSKY 1800 POWER WASHER NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
Glad I saw this - bought a Karcher insteadPosted 5/19/2007 3:25:48 PM by UnderPressureI'm glad I ran across this thread. HD is significantly closer to my house, and all other things being equal, I was about to spend my cash on the Husky 1800. After reading this I decided to drive to Lowe's instead and get the Karcher 1800. It's a very nice unit and did a heck of a job on the fiberglass slide to the kids swingset/treehouse and a Little Tikes picnic table they use. These items look virtually new again!
HUSKY PW 1750Posted 5/27/2007 10:03:52 AM by JOHN REILLYJUST ADDING TO THE LIST. ON MY 1750 TIP OF
TRIGGER VALVE INSIDE GUN BROKE OFF. I REMOVED
BROKEN PART AND I AM USING HOSE NOZZLE TO TURN
WATER ON AND OFF. I MAY BUY A NEW GUN BUT WILL
TRY FOR THE PART FIRST. TAKING A CLOSER LOOK
I CAN SEE A LOT OF POINTS OF FAILURE. YOU MIGHT WANT TO AT LEAST LUBE THE O RINGS NOW AND
THEN. GOT ALMOST THREE YEARS OUT OF IT.
good luckPosted 5/29/2007 8:01:19 PM by bbGood Luck with the karcher unit, it will soon break the same parts as the husky units above. I've had both with no avail. Looks like gas powered is the only way.
I must be luckyPosted 6/3/2007 4:31:11 PM by KiranI've had a 1750 for about 3 years now. Once, it had no pressure. I just let it sit with the water running through it for about 15 minutes, and then it worked fine. I keep mine in a rubbermaid shed outside and use it 8-10 times a year.
Hopefully I haven't jinxed myself by posting!
Yet another Husky 1750 handle problemPosted 6/3/2007 6:46:27 PM by Nicholas NickledomI too have the dreaded failed handle syndrome on my 1750. I too have spent hours on the tree of death phone help for Husky. The design allows one piece of plastic to slide on an arc -with an o ring seal- inside the other. The movement causes ovalling of the outer piece until failure occurs.
The handle is the second one, the first lasted under one season. It's a very poorly designed product with the usual dismal help line.
1650 power cordPosted 6/6/2007 6:35:30 PM by gregg culleyCan I get a new power cord for Husky 1650 ? How ? How much ? Freight ?
Another one to avoidPosted 6/7/2007 8:39:26 PM by Steve HI bought a Pacific Hydrostar 1800 PSI power washer at Harbor Freight online. It cost me $129. Nice price. I powerwashed my deck, and just now, the front of my house. Guess what? It now doesn't shut off when I release the trigger. I am calling them in the morning. I've heard that if the unit doesn't switch off when you release the trigger on the gun, this is bad. Can anyone pls confifrm this?
Bought Karcher insteadPosted 6/16/2007 6:05:03 PM by Tim HReading this site after looking at the Husky 1800, I purchaced the Karcher 3.91 1700 psi model. Used for 3 solid hours with no problems on my deck, porch (to repaint) brick and sidewalks, worked great.
Definate JunkPosted 6/26/2007 7:49:15 AM by Neg HuskyYep, I'll add my two cents, I bought one too and it worked twice. Now it's just junk. I used to use my frinds and it was only 1300 psi and it work but did not have enough power to really clean anything. That's why I went for the 1650. Next time I will get a gas one.
husky 1650 gun problemsPosted 6/26/2007 1:29:30 PM by WoodyPurchased at Home Depot, Jan., 2004.
Only problems have been with the gun assembly, but there have been a lot of those. I am on my third gun and it is now leaking. Problems have included the following:
1. profuse leaking at the gun handle.
2. leaking at the gun/lance joint.
3. trigger on gun sometimes sticks.
4. difficulty removing lance from gun.
This seems to be just a bad design. I recently contacted Husky to see if there is an alternate gun available or if they had any other suggestions. The only suggestion they had was to order a 4th gun at $34.95 US.
Huskey 1750 I got burned too!Posted 7/6/2007 12:15:59 PM by GregI bought mine about a year ago at Home Depot Niagara Falls. I had the same issue that allot of you had. Water shoots out the side of the gun after only a few uses. I called Huskey and they were really nice and were going to send me a new gun. The problem was after all was said and done, the girl I was talking too didn't realize that I had a an electric model so she couldn't help me.
1800psi HuskyPosted 7/9/2007 6:42:05 PM by AnthonyI just bought this model and returned it the next day for replacement. The detergent dispenser refused to work.I really liked the power of this washer and decided to take a chance and exchange it for another one.Same problem and this one leaked .I was told by their online troubleshooting live chat to take it apart to see where it was leaking from. I almost did it but decided why should I have to dismantle a brand spanking new washer.Had it worked at all as advertised I would have kept it.Unfortunately fool me once, shame on you.Fool me twice shame on me. A third time?
No Chance
Husky 1800Posted 7/11/2007 10:55:11 AM by TomThe 1800 blew my 15 amp breaker (I use a heavy duty extension cord rated for 15 amps). They send a new wand, it didn't help. They paid postage to send back for repair. After repair hose wouldn't stay on. They sent new hose coupler. Then it overheated after 3 minutes, but didn't blow breaker. Also didn't feed soap from tank 1. I just sent it back for free repair again, so far this piece of poor quality control hasn't worked yet out of the box.
Wanted PartsPosted 7/17/2007 2:27:38 AM by RedI did a dumpster dive for a Husky 1650. After inspecting the inside of the pump I realize I need 3 or 6 of those little spring-valve things. Will anyone salvage these for me? I will pay for shipping.
starting capacitorPosted 8/4/2007 4:01:12 PM by jo joI've had the unit 2 years, and used it twice for 30 minutes each time. The third time it tried to pump intermittantly, then stopped. All I got was a hum from the motor. I took it apart, and the starting capacitor was oozing stuff out of it. I am in the process of finding a replacement part. No kind words for a unit used for less than an hour.
Pacific Hydrostar 1800Posted 8/11/2007 4:30:44 AM by StanSteve did you have any luck with Harbor Freight? I just purchased the same one and it will be delivered this week. I bought a 7" sander/polisher from them also. Good luck finding 7" velcro sanding discs. Yikes!!!
Husky 1750Posted 8/15/2007 4:27:18 PM by carolI have also been dealing with Husky and am also getting the run around about the machine not working. On the last e mail I got from them they basically wrote me off. Does any one have an address for these people, I can't seem to find another. I am going to re port them to the Better business bureau.
Please e- mail me if you can help.
Thankyou
Husky 1750 problemPosted 8/26/2007 4:34:43 PM by DennisI purchased a Husky 1750 electric power washer in July of 2004. It hasn't seen much duty. I estimate less that 25 hours use on the machine sum total. Additionally, the machine has rarely seen more than an hour's use at any one time. Only 3 times in its life with me has it seen several hours use on a project (i.e. power washing the deck before staining). I consider this light duty. I've always followed the instructions for care, maintenance & storage. When it was running properly, it performed satisfactorily for my needs. Last month, however, when I was using it on my deck, the pump would not cycle off the way it is supposed to when you release the trigger on the wand. The motor just kept running. I contacted the 1-888 number for the company. That got me nowhere. I have yet to find a number that will connect me with a human being. I contacted the live on-line chat assistance people. The first person diagnosed the problem as something requiring a manifold adjustment and sent me instructions on how to do that but forgot to attach the illustration for same in the e-mail. I got right back on the chat line and communicated with another person who sent me the same instructions, again, but this time attached the illustration. I followed these instructions to the letter and could not achieve the necessary fine tuning recommended. During the disassembling process in order to get at the manifold, I noticed tell-tale signs that this machine might have been disassembled before (i.e. strip marks on the various screws and even an extra screw jammed into one of the holes). I contacted the live chat people again and got connected to the same chat person that forgot to send me the illustration for the manifold adjustment the first time. Trying to communicate and get assistance from this person was quite frustrating (live chat assistance venue notwithstanding). He seemed to want to jump to diagnostic conclusions without first gathering all of the requisite symptom otology. He also kept asking the same questions over & over again. Finally, I offered a guess as to what I thought the problem might be (bad microswitch and/or electrical box; maybe a short circuit). Suddenly, he agreed with my hypothesis and promptly tried to sell me the necessage part. I felt I was just getting the bum's rush, if you know what I mean. Before committing to a purchase I asked what the part cost and if there were instructions. He immediately began giving somewhat vague and ambiguous instructions over the chat session. I asked, again, for written instructions and any illustrations or diagrams for this part change-out procedure. At that point, this "customer service representative" abruptly disconnected from the chat session. I call that incredibly poor customer support. I've informed Consumer Reports about my experience with this product and, if I can ever find an address for the CEO of Husky, I intend to inform him/her of this, as well. I'm not an expert but I think it is entirely possible that the design of this machine could lead to circuit overloads, fires and other dangerous malfunctions. If I were the CEO of Husky I'd want to know about that. For that matter, I'd want my company to really provide service and support to its customers. Yesterday, I went to Home Depot to check out gas powered power washers and decided to, also, look at step ladders because I need one. I was about to pick out a nice heavy duty fiberglass model when I noticed it had a Husky label on it. Guess what I did! I don't like to say "never" but, at this point, I seriously don't think I will ever buy anything made or distributed by Husky ever again; not even a hammer! I also intend to tell anybody who wants to listen about how I feel about Husky Corporation, as well. If you care about staying in business, this is not the way to treat your customers! I'm with the guy who suggested a Class Action Lawsuit!

unhappy with Husky 1650 powerwasherPosted 9/22/2007 8:21:26 PM by Robert M. Grashabought this item a about 2and 1/2yrs ago. Problem since purchase. Soap will not come out. Only comes out when I remove the wand. Comes out in spurts.
1750Posted 10/22/2007 3:54:58 PM by JwestI wish I found this site before I bought mine. It worked 3 times and hasn't worked correctly since..
Pretty happy with my HuskyPosted 10/27/2007 2:02:24 PM by caymusI first bought my husky four years ago during the cedar fires in San Diego in '03 to wash the ash off my patio. I use it several times a year and have just finished washing off the ash again because of the wildfires this past week - it finally has a defect - the plastic part going into the compressor (that connects to the hose) stripped and water comes out of the hose (pressure washer still works - but i am wasting a lot of water). Other than that four years seems pretty good life out of the washer (guess I was one of the lucky ones to have theirs work for so long) -I'm going to see if I can just get the replacement part.... Costco has a decent one (krager? - yellow) on sale and I know if anything goes wrong - they have the BEST return policy....
Husky Pressure Washer Problems- Shutting OffPosted 12/31/2007 1:41:29 AM by Sisao TresedI've worked with power tools for many years on an industrial level. I received a Husky Power Washer for a gift and decided to wash my patio furniture and deck. Two minutes into the effort the unit shut down. It was the GFI, it's not designed well, and the motor causes it to open and shut off the machine. After fooling around with it for an hour I cut the GFI off the end of the cord, spliced it back together and I've been using it ever since. My outside plug receptacle already has a GFI which works fine. I've used it now for two years, and although it's a very junky machine it works well for those little chores around the house.
thanks for info.....now need advicePosted 2/25/2008 1:53:46 PM by mickey campbellthanks for all the info on the husky electric pressure washers. saved me a lot of headache. now, how about advising what would be a good, reliable gasoline low psi, not too expensive.
Husky 1650Posted 3/12/2008 10:43:59 AM by Patrick - DCBought mine back in 03 or 04. Plan to use it for the first time this weekend. Wish me luck!
HuskyPosted 3/15/2008 6:11:23 PM by joshP.O.S. Doesn't work half the time. Horrible customer service.
Husky 1800Posted 3/20/2008 8:03:42 AM by Bilehuwhif you are feeling lucky Home Depot has the 1800 for $100, regular price $179, not a sale price but a "let's get rid of these things" standard price, thanks for saving me the aggravation
Neither a Borrower Nor a Lender Be.Posted 3/23/2008 8:30:02 AM by BunsI've had a Husky 1750 for three years. It worked perfectly until yesterday. My brother borrowed it again and the shut off valve in the handle stopped working. I was about to tear him a new one when I happened upon this site. Now in retrospect, I must own one of the good ones. It still works well as long as I turn off the spray at the base. I refuse to pay for a part that costs as much as the clearance price of a new washer. And I refuse to talk to another customer service representative who can neither speak nor understand English. They are everywhere. What has happened to this country?
Avoid At All Cost !Posted 3/25/2008 10:13:33 PM by Brian SternOver the past 4 years I've gone through 5 Husky pressure washers, we use the pressure washers in our shop about 3 times a week, 15 min to 1/2 hour per useage. A couple of times i've been able to exchange at the Home Depot despite exceeding the 90-day return policy. today the latest Husky, the 1800, failed. Water gushing out of from the side of the wand.
I will try to return this piece of junk, but if the Home Depot won't give me another it's time to end this (lazy)cycle with Husky products. I know better now then to call Husky, their customer service is a joke, they're slow, indifferent, and technicians can be outright rude. I told myself I'd do another couple disposable pressure washers before I plunked down $1K for a light industrial pressure washer (at least with those you can replace the parts easily). To those who can afford better, avoid Husky at all cost.
HuskyPosted 4/5/2008 1:56:13 AM by skepticalEver notice that most of the news you see on TV is negative. That is because it is things that go bad in this world that people like to rant about and assign blame to. When things work good or someone does something nice, these things rarely make the news or are given the credit it deserves. The same principle of good news vs bad news applies here to these very blog sites used to rate products. Those most likely to post here are those who are frustrated and feel that by venting here and sharing their grief gives comfort to themselves.
How many people that actually read the whole manual, followed it and were careful when using the equipment posted here? Not many because they never experienced an incident to provoke them to finding this site.
This review site is not scientific. This is not to say that issues encountered by people here are not true, but rather the negative issues are the only comments predominatly available to read. When do things work as advertised on the box, very little is said about them. Given we are in a free market economy where manufacturers are in direct competion with one another for the consumers business, it would not make sense for a company to produce products that failed 95% of the time and still somehow remain in business for very long.
One person wrote above that they used the machine then stored it away for winter. You realize that water freezes when it gets cold and that frozen water expands which would break your wand, your hoses, the tanks and make o-rings fail. Pretty much most of the problems described here.
By not following instructions, you pretty much wrote your own destiny which in this case was a broken pressure washer.
There is a saying that goes "Misery loves company". That pretty much sums up this blog page. Also, it is usually the users fault when something doesn't work right or breaks.
Husky 1800Posted 4/14/2008 10:14:09 PM by TerrySaw this on sale at HD in Ontario and had a gift card so thought I'd buy one. Brought it home ...read the manual from front to back.... and proceeded to put it together as per instructions......no water would come through the unit at all. Read the troubleshooting pages and decided that it should go back to the store for a replacement, I felt it wasn't up to me to contact the company and have parts sent to me when the unit was brand new.
Took it back today and was given a replacement, brought it home and this one has no pressure ....a trickle of water comes out of the wand. I am not going to take apart factory installed items to see if they are clean. This unit will be going back to the store tomorrow for a refund.
Wish I had found this page first....would have saved me a lot of grief.
HUSKY 1650 Designed for FailurePosted 4/17/2008 10:44:34 AM by KentSymptom: No water coming out of gun, base unit functioning. Contacted the Husky Ansolutely No Help Desk on internet, who tried to tell me that the failure could only have been caused by water left in gun. That has never happened (until after gun broke). I always have followed the storage instructions as stated in the user manual. They refused to help me to troubleshoot the gun and told me that I shouldn't disassemble it for safety and security reasons. I questioned this further and was told the gun could explode and cause serious injury during disassembly. This is where I smelled a rat. I disassembled the gun and quickly diagnosed the failure to be caused by front of the CHEAP PLASTIC VALVE inside being broken off. This part is the weakest link in the gun and was obviously designed to fail after a few uses. The real reason they don't want customers to disassemble the gun is they don't want anyone to see wat a P.O.S. it is. I will never but another power tool from HUSKY. It's a shame to see this company sink so low. I have Husky hand tools that are over forty years old and never had a problem with them. I'm glad I didn't buy a replacement gun from them @ $39.00. I purchased a generic replacement at HD for $25.00. BTW I've had problems with several other power tools purhased from HD. Chain is now off limits for my power tool purchases.
I to own one of these 1750Posted 4/19/2008 6:59:59 PM by dennisI have to agree, not well made. the unit is not bad but not much research or design done on the wand assembly. what is this about.

Husky 1750 power washerPosted 4/20/2008 10:38:08 AM by JohnThe Husky 1750 psi a piece of junk. Home Depot should be ashame of it self. They knew the product was bad and kept selling it. Husky Co. still selling the same product. They should be brought to court in a class action Suit.
Husky 1800Posted 4/23/2008 7:03:16 PM by JoanWe bought a Husky 1800 last August and unfortunately never got around to trying it until yesterday. Got it all put together and turned it on and all we got was a little trickle of water. Fiddled with it for a couple more hours and still nothing. Went back to Home Depot but they said there is nothing they can do because there is only a 90 day return policy. From now on I will make sure that we try things out thoroughly immediately after we buy them. Today we are going out to by a Karcher gas pressure washer and you can be sure it won't be from Home Depot!
Husky 1750 -- Dead After 2nd UsePosted 4/26/2008 8:07:46 PM by BillI too bought my Husky 1750 from Home Depot. I used it just 2 times over a 3 year period. It's stored in a heated residential garage over the winter months. The 3rd time I tried to use it, it completely died. When I tried to turn it on, the electric motor just hummed and never started. Repeated phone calls and emails to Husky have gone unanswered. Not one reply!! Customer satisfaction doesn't exist at Husky!!
Husky 1800 wand jammedPosted 5/3/2008 2:10:26 PM by MontyThree uses, Click-N-Clean wand is now jammed and will not turn. Before that, we couldn't get soap to come out unless we fiddled with both wand and soap knob positioning. Bought it make washing our cars easier and to save water-and it does save water by not allowing any to pass through it! It's Saturday, no "support" available, so it's going back to Home Depot. I will look for another brand!
Husky 1750Posted 5/14/2008 11:25:06 PM by RenegadeI stored mine inside and had a leak in the handle this spring on the first use. i disasembled the handle, and found the problem to be the o rings on the valve. I've been unable to locate replacement parts, Husky only wants to sell me a replacement gun, not the parts. I did find several replacement handles that are supposed to work with this model. EBAY has several listed, some quite heavy duty. for me, I just power wash the siding on the house, and my vehicles, the 1750 is fine, but I'm not happy with the cheesy handle. I'm in contact with one of the vendors on EBAY to get the better gun; it may be the only way to get good use out of this product. I too wish I saw this before I bought it, but now I'm stuck with it and a replacement heavy duty gun/wand may be the only option. Good luck to the rest of you, if you find a good fit replacement, let me know.
Husky POSPosted 5/23/2008 2:47:13 PM by Not a happy camperI am amazed that there is a company like this getting away with this stuff in this day and age! No service, no communication, awful equipment and no recourse. Wish someone would post an address for these thieves and more info about the company behind this POS. What a rip off !!!
I am mad as hell and I won't take it anymorePosted 5/25/2008 4:15:10 PM by JoeAfter 3 uses with my 2nd wand late last year I start it up and hmmmm....the wand leaks. I have this feeeling that the product cannot handle a cold winter. Correct me if you will.
I was about to go to the hardware store and try to replace the o-rings but thanks to this forum I won't bother wasting my titme or money.
I feel like having this POS Fed-Exed to the CEO of Husky. What an insult to a fine dog,

Husky 1800 Power washerPosted 5/27/2008 6:32:16 PM by juanLast year I bought the husky power washer 1800 and used it a few times I put it away for the winter time I tried to use it this year and it wasn't working, I thought that it got clogged some how, Then after looking at it for a while I discovered that a rubber washer from the garden hose was imbedded inside the quick connector, # 18 on the parts manual, it could easily confuse the user, because by looking at it it looks like it belongs there. I took a screw driver removed the rubber washer and my power washer is working again.
Husky 1800 Power Washer Two ReturnsPosted 5/30/2008 11:24:15 AM by EdgeI have a similar problems to those of you above. The 1st unit was DOA cause be the soap injector did not working. The 2nd failed after three times with a total of about 5 hrs usage with the infamous motor hum and trickling water output. It looked to be caused by a electric motor or start circuit. I decided to return it back to Home Depot where I had to talk to the manager for approve the return. This was because the "customer service rep" said it was classified under gasoline power equipment and could not be returned after 30 days. The was despite my pointing out the difference between electric and gasoline power equipment in Home Depots return policy. Luckily I got the return. Obviously these units are junk. Surprisingly my neighbors HD return 1750 he bought for $50 is still working into the 3rd season. But basically consider this and other low end pressure washers a disposable tool that lasts anywhere from 0 to 2 years with average use. If your set on a pressure washer get a gas powered unit at $350 and above. The weak link in the system is the pump, so look for a quality pump brand name made by Comet, CAT, or General.Next look at the engine and accessories. Northern Tool has some good units. Winterize the pump with Pumpsaver or RV antifreeze. The product manufacturers brand name is not important here, since most the mfrs assemble major components rather than make them. Shop quality, service and warranty.
