Site Analysis
Is your website as effective as it can be? Does it load quickly under dial-up conditions?
Does the site's HTML code ensure optimum search engine placement?
Our Site Analysis takes an in-depth look at your web site and server log statistics (if available) and tells you how it measures up in categories like:
- search engine rankings
- link popularity
- meta tags: title, keywords, description
- keyword density
- HTML and javascript code validity
- broken links
- image size/optimization
- browser compatibility
- site usability
Here are some questions you will find answered in the Site Report:
- How does your site rank in the major search engines (Google, Yahoo!,
Open Directory Project, Looksmart, HotBot, AltaVista, Lycos, MSN, AOL,
Netscape, and Excite)?
- Are meta-tags and page content used in the most effective way to ensure placement high on in your target customers' search results?
- How does your site look under different browsers and settings?
- Does the site load fast enough with a dial-up connection? Could images be compressed further for quicker download, without noticeable loss of quality?
- Do the images all feature "height" and "width" tags to avoid "jumping text" during page load?
- Do the images feature "alt" tags?
- How is your site organized? Does it have an intuitive user interface (UI)?
- Does the site feature a consistent look?
- Is it easy to navigate between different categories?
- Does it have a P3P-standard Privacy Policy? (In Internet Explorer: "View," "Privacy Report," "Summary")
- Is it easily accessible to all users? Includes a Bobby Report concerning web users with disabilities, colorblindness, etc.
- Do small typos or grammar errors tarnish the overall professional image of your site?
All this information is provided in a comprehensive, easy-to-read document that provides practical suggestions on how to make your site even more effective.
We also look at the server log files (if available) and tell you if there are natural "thresholds" at your site: pages with a less-than-average click-through rate.
Based on the Site Analysis, we submit valuable information to you on how to further improve
accessibility and effectiveness of your website, i.e. through:
- improving search engine ranking by optimizing meta-tags, body text,
<h1>/<h2>/<h3> tags, image "alt" tags, and creating cross-links and gateway pages;
- resampling overly large images or non-compressed jpg's/bitmaps
- creating and uploading the files needed for a valid Privacy Report
- fixing broken links or erroneous javascript code
- optimizing categories and/or navigation for easy browsing (see this article about users' preference to browse vs. search)
The Site Analysis Report is a 20-40 page HTML document (depending on the size of your website) and a great tool to make your website even more effective. Contact us for a Quote or send us an e-mail to find out more.
